The wisdom of trying to Spider Man it into your second-story apartment after a night of drinking became clear early this morning.

It's not wise at all, apparently.

A man fashioned his own makeshift rope and attempted to pull himself into a back window of his apartment near Pico Bouelvard and Sixth Avenue in the Victoria Park area early today, but fell and did a face-plant on the ground below, police said:

It happened at 1:35 a.m., LAPD Officer Sara Faden told us. The guy was hospitalized in stable condition, she said.

A police official at the department's nearby Wilshire Division station said that the victim “had most of his injuries to the face.”

He said “he and a friend had been out eating and had a few drinks and came back and they realized they had locked themselves out.”

One apparently passed out in the building's lobby while the other tried to climb that wannabe rope, which was possibly made out of clothing, police said. The thing broke.

The Wilshire Division officials said that the guy in the lobby “had no idea what had occurred.”
