63-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Speeding Car Accident on Santiago Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (August 7, 2023) – Late Friday morning, one man was killed in a speeding collision on 6th Street. Police responded to the scene around 10:10 a.m., near Santiago Avenue on July 28th. According to reports, the 63-year-old male driver of a Nissan Rogue was traveling on the wrong side of the road at a high rate of speed. Eventually, the speeding vehicle struck a parked car, ejecting the driver onto the road. Medics arrived and transported the man to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Following preliminary duties, officers suspect that speed played a factor. However, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
