Male Pedestrian Killed in Accident near Sixth Avenue
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 23, 2023) – Early Tuesday morning, a pedestrian collision on C Street claimed the life of a man. Police responded to the scene around 5:20 p.m., near Sixth Avenue and the Fifth Avenue trolley station. For reasons under investigation, a pedestrian crawled onto the road from the sidewalk at the 1000 block of Sixth Avenue. There, the driver of a passing trash truck failed to stop in time and struck the man. Medics arrived and pronounced the male pedestrian, between 30 and 40-years-old, dead at the scene. At this time, authorities have not released his identity. San Diego Officials shut down southbound Sixth Avenue at B Street for hours while crews worked on the scene.
