40-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash near Central Visalia

VISALIA, CA (February 22, 2022) – On Sunday, a 40-year-old man lost his life after a pedestrian accident on Highway 198.

The pedestrian crash happened along Highway 198 near the Central Visalia exit, authorities said.

Furthermore, officers reported the 40-year-old man ran from the center median across the highway when an approaching Subaru Forester struck him.

Moreover, according to the CHP, the motorist was unable to avoid hitting the man.

Eventually, emergency crews rushed the man to Kaweah Health Medical Center, where he eventually died.

Meanwhile, authorities withheld his name at this time pending notification of next of kin.

Officials have not yet concluded whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash and there have been no arrests.
