35-Year-Old Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident on Ventura Boulevard

WOODLAND HILLS, CA (February 11, 2022) – Early Monday evening, a man was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Ponce Avenue.

The incident occurred around 6:03 p.m., on February 7. Crews responded to the scene near the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Ponce Avenue shortly after.

Per reports, the driver of a vehicle struck the 35-year-old man was walking outside of a marked crosswalk. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.

Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. However, his identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

Officers were able to locate the address of the registered owner of the vehicle involved in the crash. A 44-year-old man was later taken into custody as a result. Although, officers could not confirm whether the suspect was the registered owner of the vehicle.

No further details regarding the pedestrian crash on Ponce Avenue are public at this time; however, more information will be provided once made available.
