Suspect at Large after Fatal Pedestrian Crash near Gentry Way

RENO, NV (February 15, 2022) – Thursday night, a man was fatally struck in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Kietzke Lane.

The incident happened around 9:23 p.m., near Gentry Way. Dispatchers responded to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, a man was crossing the road mid-block when he was struck by a passing southbound vehicle. Upon impact, the driver stopped to check on the victim.

Shortly thereafter, another driver struck the pedestrian as he was lying down the road. The driver of the second vehicle fled from the scene before authorities arrived.

Paramedics arrived and transported the severely injured man to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Although, crews only described him as a man in his 50s.

Meanwhile, police are currently tracking down a light-colored SUV resembling a Toyota Sequoia.

Following preliminary investigations, speed and DUI do not appear to be factors in the collision. However, an investigation remains under way.
