Deadly Pedestrian Crash near Thomas Road in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ (May 11, 2021) – Early Friday morning, an elderly man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on 43rd Avenue.

Authorities arrived to the scene around 2:45 a.m., after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

According to reports, a man was crossing the street near Thomas Road when a westbound vehicle struck him.

Officers arrived and found the victim lying in the road. He was later described as a man between the ages of 50 and 60-years-old.

Due to the extent of his condition, paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Although, his name has not been provided.

In addition, the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Investigators say there were no signs of impairment.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further details about the pedestrian accident on 43rd Avenue remains ongoing. Once available, more information will be released.
