STOCKTON, CA (July 28, 2021) – A 40-year-old man died Sunday evening after a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run on South San Joaquin Street.

The tragic accident took place just before 6:00 p.m. July 25th, in the 400 block of South San Joaquin Street.

Officials received reports of a hit-and-run suspect striking and killing an unidentified man on a San Joaquin street under unknown circumstances.

Paramedics arrived and rushed the man to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

At this moment, officials described the vehicle as a light blue or grey Toyota minivan from the late 1990s.

It’s unclear whether or not the motorist was intoxicated at the time. He could face felony hit-and-run charges if caught.

Detectives have published a surveillance shot taken of the suspect’s vehicle.

The CHP is asking anyone who recognizes the car or has information regarding the suspect to contact the Stockton Police Department at (209) 937-8377.
