Officers then determined that the man had been in an accident just a few hours before collapsing.

According to reports, the man and his friend were riding mopeds in the 900 block of North Hope Avenue around midnight when they collided.

Both men looked to be unharmed and remounted their motorcycles before continuing on to a friend’s house. After having chest pains, the man decided to return home.

His condition rapidly deteriorated once he came home. Paramedics responded to his home and unfortunately declared him dead on the scene.
