90-Year-Old Pronounced Dead after Scooter Accident in La Jolla

LA JOLLA, CA (June 13, 2022) – Saturday afternoon, a man was killed and a woman was injured in a scooter collision on La Jolla Boulevard.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m., on the 6600 block of La Jolla Boulevard. Dispatchers responded to the scene shortly after.

Per reports, a Toyota Camry struck a 90-year-old man riding his scooter on La Jolla Boulevard. Investigators say an 80-year-old woman was driving the Camry.

Paramedics transported the elderly man to a hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died. Meanwhile, the woman remained uninjured.

Crews closed the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, authorities have not released the identities of those involved.
