29-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after DUI Pedestrian Crash near Cameron Street

LAS VEGAS, NV (January 17, 2024) – One man died early Saturday morning and Jair Rebollo-Castrejon was arrested after a DUI crash on Tropicana Avenue.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on December 30th, law enforcement responded just west of Cameron Street.

According to reports, the driver of a 2008 white Ford F-250, traveling west, veered onto the sidewalk and collided with a 30-year-old man who was standing there. The impact also caused damage to a Las Vegas Valley Water protective box, a water supply line, an NV Energy power pole, and an iron fence.

The driver reversed onto the road and fled westbound. Despite efforts to save the pedestrian’s life, emergency crews declared him deceased at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased victim.

The abandoned Ford was eventually located in the northeast valley, leading to the arrest of 23-year-old Jair Rebollo-Castrejon on charges related to hit-and-run and DUI.
