Suspect at Large after Fatal Hit-and-Run near Belmont Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 26, 2022) – Wednesday evening, a hit-and-run on Roberts Lane claimed the life of one man.

The fatal collision happened around 9:38 p.m., near Belmont Avenue.

According to reports, the driver of a pickup-truck hit a man walking on the westbound side of Roberts Lane.

Responding medical personnel took the severely injured pedestrian to Kern Medical where they later died. Although, their identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

At this time, the make and model of the suspect’s vehicle and the identity of the hit-and-run driver remain under investigation. Bakersfield Officials are encouraging anyone with information about the Roberts Lane hit-and-run to contact CHP’s Bakersfield Office at 661-36-96-6600.
