Bryan Alexis Cifuentes was charged with one count of battery in connection with an incident at SoFi Stadium that left a man in a coma.

The incident occurred on January 30, during the NFC championship game between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers.

The man who was hospitalized was identified as Daniel Luna, 40, and police said he was found incapacitated in the SoFi Stadium parking lot.

The L.A. County District Attorney’s office said Luna had approached a group in the parking lot and after an altercation, Luna was knocked unconscious.

Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts said surveillance footage from the stadium showed a man wearing 49ers attire, who appeared to be Luna, push a man wearing Rams attire, who was believed to be Cifuentes, with Cifuentes seemingly responding by pushing Luna in return and punching him.

Luna has awakened from his coma according to KTVU news, but is still believed to be “significantly disabled.”

“We want to continue to ensure that our sporting events are safe for everyone,” District Attorney George Gascón said. “We will not tolerate violent behavior at what should have been a joyous occasion for our county.”
