Nerses Galstyan was charged Thursday on suspicion of murdering four people earlier this month at a Valley Village restaurant, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. Mayhem, attempted murder and a gun charge were also filed against the suspect in connection with the bloody shooting spree.

The 26-year-old was found and arrested, along with his brother, in Washington this week. The D.A.'s office states that 24-year-old Samuel Galstyan has been released but that he “remains under investigation.” State extradition of the elder brother, who is being held without bail, is being processed so that he can be returned to L.A., prosecutors said.

The suspect has been charged in Van Nuys Superior Court with “four counts of first-degree murder with the special circumstance of multiple murders,” which would make him eligible for the death penalty if he's ever convicted. Nerses Galstyan was also charged with “one count of mayhem involving one of the victims who survived the attack as well as two counts of attempted first-degree murder,” according to the D.A.'s statement. He also was charged on suspicion of using a handgun to commit the murders.

The April 3 shooting at the Hot Spot restaurant on Riverside Drive in North Hollywood took the lives of Hayk Yegnanyan, 25, Vardan Tofalyan, 31, Sarkis Karadjian, 26, and Harut Baburyan, 28. Two other men were wounded in the attack.
