Suspect Charged after Stolen SUV Collision on Herndon Avenue

CLOVIS, CA (June 24, 2022) – Officers apprehended a man after a police pursuit ended in a crash on Peach Avenue, late Monday afternoon.

According to the Clovis Police, the chase started around 4:00 p.m., when officers spotted a reportedly stolen SUV on Herndon Avenue and Peach Avenue.

However, the driver refused to stop when the officers tried to pull over the SUV, initiating a pursuit. Authorities said the suspect ran into a stop sign at Peach and Sierra Avenue, and crashed into another SUV at the intersection.

Subsequently, the suspect lost control of the vehicle and ended up in the front yard of a residence near the intersection. Later on, Clovis Officials determined that the suspect was on probation and was driving on a suspended license.

Officers arrested the unidentified male suspect and booked him into Fresno County Jail.
