A man was arrested and charged with murder after his two children were found dead in a Lancaster home, Friday.

L.A. County Fire personnel were initially called to the scene for a gas leak, but upon arrival found a 12-year-old boy and 13-year-old girl dead, with lacerations and stab wounds.

Maurice Taylor Sr., 34, was booked by L.A. County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives and is being held on $2 million bond at the Sheriff’s Lancaster station.

Lancaster mayor R. Rex Parris said the children were found decapitated, but that has not been confirmed by investigators.

There were four others in the home—two adults and two children—all were questioned by investigators.

The investigation is ongoing and this story will be updated as more information becomes available.
