Driver Extricated after Big-Rig Crash near 15 Freeway in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, CA (August 10, 2021) – Monday afternoon, a man was airlifted after a semi-truck collision on Stoddard Wells Road.

Around 3:26 p.m., officers responded to the scene near the northbound lanes of 15 Freeway.

For reasons unknown, a white 2021 Hyundai Sonata crashed into a 2014 International TranStar 8600.

Due to the impact of the crash, the Hyundai became lodged underneath the trailer, causing the sedan driver to be trapped.

As a result, Apple Valley Fire Protection had to use the Jaws of Life to free the driver from the sedan. Shortly after, a CHP helicopter airlifted the injured man to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

During cleanup and preliminary duties, officers closed the surrounding area after the collision on Stoddard Wells Road for a brief time. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
