Man Hospitalized after Vista Hit-And-Run Crash in AutoZone Parking Lot

VISTA, CA (October 12, 2021) – Tuesday, a male pedestrian was airlifted to a nearby hospital after a hit-and-run accident on Santa Fe Avenue.

Authorities responded to the incident around 5:00 p.m., in the parking lot of AutoZone on south Santa Fe Avenue near Civic Center Drive.

Upon arrival, the deputies found the male pedestrian pinned underneath a Toyota pickup-truck at the scene. However, the driver of the Toyota fled before the authorities arrived.

Eventually, crews extracted the man from underneath the vehicle and airlifted him to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido. Although, the extent of his condition remains unclear.

At this time, Vista Officials are working to identify the driver. More details about the hit-and-run accident on Santa Fe Avenue will soon be provided.
