The hit-and-run epidemic isn't only confined to the city of Los Angeles. In tony Malibu over the weekend a 3-year-old and a woman described in reports as the child's grandmother were hit be an SUV that didn't stop, cops say.
It happened about 8:30 p.m. as the two were apparently crossing along a dark and dangerous stretch of Pacific Coast Highway:
In fact some news reports suggested that if the driver had stopped, there might not have been a case against him or her.
It happened in the 25800 block of Pacific Coast Highway, according to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.
Reports suggested the two were leaving a restaurant. The eatery Malibu Seafood is nearby.
The sheriff's department says the woman sustained a broken arm and the toddler sustained a fratured hip and “numerous facial abrasions.”
Both were hospitalized.
