Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision near Belmont Avenue

FRESNO COUNTY, CA (February 1, 2022) – Tuesday morning, a male pedestrian was fatally struck in a semi-truck accident on Highway 180.

According to California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just after 1:00 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the highway. Dispatchers responded to the scene near Belmont Avenue shortly after.

Based on initial investigation, the semi-truck driver was heading south on Belmont when the driver heard a noise and stopped. The driver then saw a man lying on the ground in front of Gonzalez Towing.

Medical responders arrived and pronounced the male pedestrian dead at the scene. At this time, further circumstances that led to the crash are still being investigated by authorities.
