Man Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near 27th Street

LONG BEACH, CA (February 3, 2023) – Saturday evening, one male pedestrian was fatally struck in a hit-and-run accident on Pacific Avenue.

Officers responded to the scene around 6:45 p.m., near 27th Street in the city of Long Beach after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.

At this time, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear. However, reports indicate that a man was hit by a vehicle that immediately fled the scene. Shortly after, two other vehicles also struck the man.

Upon arrival, units discovered a Honda Odyssey driven by a 78-year-old man. In addition, crews also located a 27-year-old male Hyundai Elentra driver.

Meanwhile, emergency crews extricated the trapped victim from underneath one of the vehicles. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the male pedestrian dead at the scene.
