1 Killed, 1 Hospitalized after Head-On Collision near Wards Avenue

WALLACE, CA (December 17, 2021) – A head-on crash on Highway 12 left 25-year-old Makayla Matlock Moody dead, Thursday morning.

The crash took place around 10:55 a.m., on December 9. Emergency crews arrived to the scene on the westbound lanes of the highway near Wards Avenue.

According to reports, Moody who was driving her 2005 Dodge Neon at an unknown speed, when for unknown reasons she veered into the oncoming lanes. There, she crashed head-on into a westbound 2007 Chevrolet Silverado.

The Chevy was driven by 52-year-old Michael Fredrickson, of Farmington. Medics arrived and transported him to San Joaquin General Hospital with moderate injuries.

Meanwhile, responding officers pronounced 25-year-old Moody, of Stockton dead at the scene.

Investigators stated that it was rainy at the time of the collision and the roadway was wet. However. authorities did not release any additional information.

At this time, an active investigation is still currently underway.
