If you caught this weekend's episode of Good Food on KCRW, you'll know that Laura Avery who does the Market Report for the show ran into chef Alain Giraud — “with his signature sweater and shopping bag” — at the Santa Monica Farmers Market. The French chef told Avery that Maison Giraud, his new Pacific Palisades restaurant, will open very soon. “When you see me at the market, it means I'm close to opening.” Giraud has been without an L.A. restaurant since Anisette Brasserie closed just over a year ago, though he wowed us with a stint at Test Kitchen.

The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and a French tea, but Giraud tells Avery he's not sure it's a French restaurant. Also, there will be parking. Plenty of it.

Maison Giraud: 1032 Swarthmore Ave., LA.
