76-Year-Old Victim Dies in Pedestrian Collision on Idlewood Drive

SAN JOSE, CA (March 14, 2022)Mai Thi Nguyen was fatally struck in a pedestrian crash on McLaughlin Avenue, early Saturday evening.

According to police, crews responded to the scene around 6:40 p.m., near Idlewood Drive.

Per reports, the driver of a 2015 Nissan Rogue SUV was heading south and struck a pedestrian in the area. However, further circumstances leading up to the collision remain unclear.

Medics arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Due to the extent of their condition, medics later pronounced 76-year-old Nguyen dead at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Although, authorities have not released their name or place of residency.

As of this time, an investigation into the deadly accident is still ongoing.
