Update: Magnolia Bakery will reopen on Monday or Tuesday of next week, August 2nd or 3rd, according to a Magnolia rep, who says, “As with most things building-related, it is taking a little bit longer than anticipated… their cupcakes, banana pudding and coffee cakes will be back in full force next week.” (This post was originally published July 27th.)

After opening less than two weeks ago on Third Street, Magnolia Bakery is closed temporarily due to building department issues raised by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. Magnolia fans fret not: “they were only mechanical and engineering issues and are not related to any sanitary or health code violations,” explained a Magnolia rep via email. “They are hoping to reopen tomorrow or Thursday. Magnolia is excited to be open for business and this is just a temporary glitch.”
