Two weeks after being shut down by the Health Department, Magnolia Bakery reopens today. Initially, the New York-based bakery anticipated a brief closure due to building department issues, but “as with all things construction related, it's taking twice as long as planned,” said their PR rep via email. Magnolia Bakery writes an official statement to customers:

Dear Los Angeles,

We at Magnolia Bakery would like to thank you for your support and patience over the course of our 2 week closing. During that time we successfully addressed a number of unresolved construction issues.

We would also like to extend a special thanks to all the folks at both city and state agencies that gave their time and guidance and helped us reopen as quickly as possible.

Our ovens are on and our bakers are baking up a storm. We are officially reopened!

We look forward to serving you,

Magnolia Bakery
