You've seen Magnolia cupcakes in chick flicks such as Sex and the City (in an episode where Carrie falls for Aden), and in The Devil Wears Prada (when Andy buys a cupcake as a belated birthday present/peace offering for her boyfriend.) And after nearly a year of permit delays, and dozens of inquiring fans, you will see Magnolia Bakery opening tomorrow at noon on Third Street in West Hollywood. The bakery, with four locations in New York and one in Dubai, was purchased by Steve and Tyra Abrams in 2006. The owners tapped into the original art deco look of the building and decorated the space accordingly, incorporating vintage baking items, antique tin signs and classic tin cake carriers.

The menu, which will remain the same as its predecessors, includes classic buttercream cupcakes (Magnolia is the infamous bakery rumored to have started the cupcake craze); banana pudding; an array of cakes; and pretty much any dessert you might be daydreaming about. “There is such a strong cross-culturalization between New York and Los Angeles,” Steve said in a press release. “We wanted to become a part of this community and create a neighborhood place that offers a welcoming respite from the pressures and pace of urban life,” Tyra added.
