Passenger Dead after Solo-Car Accident near Mile Marker 186 on Interstate 80

WINNEMUCCA, NV (August 23, 2022) – Saturday afternoon, Maggie Bringhurst was pronounced dead after a rollover collision on Interstate 80.

The incident occurred on August 6th, at around 1:42 p.m., near mile marker 186.

According to reports, the driver of a gray Toyota 4Runner was heading west on the highway in the left travel lane. For reasons unknown, the Toyota then veered off the left side of the road into the center median. The driver then overcorrected to the right, causing the Toyota to overturn as it moved back across the lanes of the freeway.

Medics arrived shortly after and pronounced the passenger, 23-year-old Bringhurst of Logan, Utah, dead at the scene.

Following preliminary duties, officers suspect that impairment played a factor in the collision. However, an active investigation is still currently underway.
