Deadly Car Accident near Dakota Avenue Results in 2 Fatalities

FRESNO, CA (August 10, 2021) – Wednesday afternoon, a multi-vehicle crash claimed the life of Magal Bhatti and Todd Lyman.

According to the CHP, the incident happened around 4:40 p.m., on Clovis Avenue near Dakota Avenue.

Investigators say Lyman was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer when he veered right on the roadway and struck a curb. The impact caused him to lose control and strike a fire hydrant.

Afterwards, the Trailblazer careened into a parked Toyota Camry, pushing two other vehicles in a nearby dealership.

The 32-year-old Camry driver identified as Magal Bhatti, died at the hospital due to major injuries.

Authorities also say 53-year-old Todd Lyman not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. As a result, he was ejected onto the road and pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, the California Highway Patrol is still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
