Madonna, clearly incensed that fellow music icon Robert Plant got to hang with the Style Council in the desert, is now planning a little sandy excursion of her own…looks like the Material Girl is dusting off her cowboy boots and bullwhip and will join the caravan to Coachella next month.

According to Pitchfork, Madge will be playing the Dance Tent on Sunday April 30, the second day of the festival. I have to say, I never thought I'd see Tool and Madonna on the same line-up (what next – Giant Drag duets with Mariah?), but the guys and gals at Pitchfork seemed rather excited by the news, reporting that Madonna plans a “full-on extravaganza with dancers, costumes, and lights”.

Even though Madge has about as much indie cred as K-Mart, I wouldn't miss this for the world and will, of course, be vogueing in the dance tent with the rest of the gawkers. If you're lucky, I might slip some shrooms in the musclebound diva's green tea while she hangs out in the Style Council VIP area before the show.

If we let her in, that is.
