29-Year-Old Mother Fatally Struck in Multi-Vehicle DUI Collision near Northeast 130th Street

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE, WA (November 7, 2022) – Thursday, Mackenzie Mitchell was killed in a four-vehicle DUI accident on Interstate 5.

Dispatchers responded to the scene near NE 130th Street just before 1:00 a.m.

Per reports, a man was driving west on Northeast 130th Street when he veered off an overpass before striking multiple vehicles on the northbound lanes. Mitchell was a passenger inside one of the vehicles that was struck.

Medics arrived and transported 29-year-old Mitchell, of Everett to Harborview Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, officers arrested 45-year-old Liming Gao, from Seattle for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The loved ones of Mitchell set up a GoFundMe page to help with costs during this time. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, sister and daughter.
