Solo-Vehicle Crash near Deer Springs Road Leaves Teen Hospitalized

MARIPOSA COUNTY, CA (June 15, 2023) – Tuesday evening, a single-car accident on Darrah Road claimed the life of MacKenzie Hunter. The crash happened around 7:45 p.m. along Darrah Road, just west of Deer Springs Road. According to California Highway Patrol, Hunter, in a 2001 Ford F-250 was traveling west on Darrah Road. He allowed the truck to veer into opposing lanes and crashed into a tree. Emergency crews at the site of the collision pronounced 18-year-old MacKenzie Hunter dead at the scene. Meanwhile, medics transported his 15-year-old passenger to Calley Children’s Hospital for treatment of significant injuries. The Mariposa County School District identified the deceased driver as a senior student at the district who was set to graduate on Friday. No further details regarding the fatal Darrah Road crash have been released to the public. Mariposa County Officials will provide more information once available.
