27-Year-Old Driver Dead, Passenger Hospitalized after Collision

SANTA BARBARA, CA (December 16, 2021) Luis Najera, 27, of Los Angeles lost his life after a fatal collision on Shoreline Drive Saturday.

The fatal accident took place in the 700 block of Shoreline Drive just after midnight on December 11.

According to police, Najera was driving a silver Toyota pickup-truck when he drove off the road and collided into a huge palm tree.

Emergency responders extricated Najera and his passenger from the truck and took them to Cottage Hospital’s Emergency Room, for treatment of serious injuries.

Due to the extent of his condition, Najera died three hours later.  Furthermore, family and friends of Najera made a GoFundMe page to help for the expenses.

Additionally, officials have no reports about the passenger’s current condition. At this time, San Diego police continue to investigate the fatal single-car collision.
