Drunk Driver Arrested after Fatally Striking Motorcyclist on Trimble Road in San Jose

SAN JOSE, CA (May 17, 2021) – San Jose Police arrested Luis Anthony Gonzalez on Tuesday after killing a motorcyclist while drunk driving.

According to reports, the deadly crash occurred around 7:45 p.m., at Trimble and Zanker Road.

Gonzalez was driving a 2016 Toyota Corolla south on Zanker Road. There, he ran a red light and struck an eastbound motorcyclist on Trimble Road.

Despite life-saving efforts, paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene.

Authorities later identified the Corolla driver to be 21-year-old Luis Anthony Gonzalez. Shortly after, they arrested Gonzalez for suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI.

However, the identity of the deceased victim remains unavailable pending notification of next of kin.

San Jose officials are further investigating the incident.
