Driver Dead, Passenger Hospitalized after Single-Vehicle Collision near McKeen Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 17, 2022) Luis Fernando Camayo died and Juan Quistelaymito was hurt Thursday, in a solo-car crash on Union Avenue.

The accident happened around 6:00 a.m., just south of Mckee Road.

Per reports, Camayo was driving at a high rate of speed before veering off the road, side-sweeping a power pole, and colliding with a tree.

Responding officers declared Camayo dead at the scene. Meanwhile, medics took Quistelaymito to Kern Medical for treatment of moderate injuries.

At this time, an active investigation is still currently underway. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
