Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision near Sunset Avenue

WEST COVINA, CA (December 7, 2022) – Thursday evening, Luis Banuelos was arrested and a woman was killed in a hit-and-run on Cameron Avenue. 

The collision happened around 9:10 p.m., at the intersection of South Sunset and West Cameron Avenue. 

According to reports, two vehicles collided in the area leaving a woman injured. Upon impact, the male driver of one of the vehicles immediately fled the scene. 

The woman succumbed to her injuries after being transported to a hospital. However, her identity remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from her next of kin. 

Officers later arrested 32-year-old Luis Banuelos of Long Beach. He is currently facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon, hit-and-run, and DUI. An investigation also showed that Banuelos was also involved in a nearby business theft. 

Police are asking anyone with information about the Cameron Avenue hit-and-run to contact West Covina Officials immediately.
