Suspect Arrested after Car Accident near Alameda Street in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, CA (October 27, 2021) Authorities arrested Luis Alberto Camberos after intentionally crashing his vehicle into a patrol car.

Officers responded to dispatch calls just before 5:50 p.m., on Pacific Coast Highway near Alameda Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a patrol vehicle with major driver side damage. Following preliminary duties, the investigators identified the suspect as Luis Alberto Camberos, of Wilmington.

According to the authorities, Camberos attempted to flee the scene but was later arrested after being located nearby. As a result, police arrested Camberos for suspicions of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported the injured officer to a hospital with minor injuries.

At this time, Wilmington Police are still currently investigating the incident.
