Some people you look at and you never know if they're either hotbeds of inescapable sexuality or sad water beds of floppiness. Comedian Kristen Schaal — that criminally underused, wide-eyed Bernadette Peters analog from The Daily Show — discusses and signs The Sexy Book of Sexy Sex ($24.95, Chronicle Books). Despite an admitted desire to write the book under a pseudonym because she didn't want anyone to imagine her doing “those things” — Schaal writes about herself and partner/fellow Daily Show scribbler Rich Blomquist engaging in heated discussion about all things S-E-X. The logical extension to a book like that is a book signing like this; if you keep telling everyone you're a great lover — and, let's face it, writing a book about your sex life doesn't exactly scream humility — ultimately you're going to have someone come up to you and say, “Hey, I hear you're a great lover.” Which is a rather crass thing to say to a woman without her co-author present, but in point of fact it is in fact what everyone's thinking tonight.
