Have coffee-loving IG-hungry relatives coming to town? Head over to Coffee World at the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, the world’s first ever coffee pop-up museum. Founded by brother and sister duo Divya and Kishan Patel, the Coffee World experience  allows you to become the coffee bean and tour each room, from growing in the fields to ending up in someone’s morning cup. The caffeinated, immersive experience features local and national artists who have designed Instagram-worthy backdrops and props like a giant coffee cup.

In partnership with Mercy for Animals and Farm Sanctuary, Veggie Grill has launched its Embrace Kindness Campaign. Starting today through December 31, 2021, Veggie Grill will donate 5% of proceeds from all gift card sales (online and in-store) to both nonprofits (2.5% each). Priedite Barbecue is bringing their Central Coast BBQ down to Majordōmo on Sunday, November 21 for an outdoor smokehouse pop-up featuring Nicholas Priedite’s famous brisket and beef fat tortilla tacos alongside wood-smoked short rib, pork belly, and pork shoulder served with ssäm and ssamjang from Majordōmo’s Jude Parra-Sickels. Also on tap: Suntory Toki Highballs and Frozen Appleton Cuba Libres.BBQ is first come, first serve with limited availability, so come early! 

Love Actually Comes Alive At L’Ermitage

Over at Platform in Culver City, Loria Stern Holiday Pop-up is running through December. Edible flower cookie innovator Loria Stern has opened her first physical space with sweet and savory treats, holiday pies for pre-order and special workshops.Holey Grail Donuts are available Saturdays and Sundays through November. Grab their original Taro donut from Kauai, from the new menu of dough every weekend.

L’Ermitage Beverly Hills is partnering with LOVE ACTUALLY LIVE for an immersive holiday experience starting November 27 and available through December 3. The hotel will be transformed into a winter wonderland by Emmy Award winning set designer Matthew Steinbrenner, accented by thematic holiday decor and new culinary creations. The package starts at $725/night + tax and includes:

  • Accommodations in a studio or junior suite with city views, runway-like dressing rooms and first-class amenities.
  • Custom eggnog chocolate truffles waiting in-suite from Food Network star and celebrity chef Stephanie Boswell. 
  • Two Mezzanine seating tickets to LOVE ACTUALLY LIVE at The Wallis.
  • Chauffeured ride from the L’Ermitage Beverly Hills to The Wallis for the performance.
  • Autographed LOVE ACTUALLY LIVE playbill.

Guests of the hotel and theatregoers can also reserve a table at Avec Nous for a holiday-inspired pre-theatre dinner before evening performances or high tea on matinee dates. Thematic culinary highlights include mince pies and Yorkshire pudding for dinner as well as specialty cocktails including Pine Old Fashioned and L’Ermitage Eggnog. The English-inspired high tea service will include finger sandwiches, gingerbread cookies, scones and more for a pre-performance treat.
