Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision near Talus Way

RENO, NV (December 9, 2022) Louis Ikaikaalapai Vegas was arrested early Saturday, after a fatal hit-and-run on North Virginia Street.

The incident occurred around 2:31 a.m., near Talus Way about one mile north of McCarran Boulevard.

According to reports, a woman was found lying on the roadway after a vehicle struck her under unknown circumstances.

Paramedics transported the woman to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead due to the extent of her injuries. Officers withheld her identity pending notification of kin.

Responding officers then discovered a vehicle nearby with damage consistent with someone striking a pedestrian.

Police approached the driver, identified as Louis Ikaikaalapai Vegas, 22, and arrested him on suspicion of felony hit-and-run along with other related charges.
