We usually leave the comedy tips to the obsessive freaks who follow the scene, but we've been kind of focused on Eugene Mirman for the past, uh, forever, and think that his brand of ridiculousness is superior to many others. Maybe it's the claustrophobic nature of his clips, which feature him in a room by himself staring at a video camera and talking. But what separates Mirman from the billion teenage girls who do the same thing on YouTube every day is not only his gender, age and freakish personality, but his approach.

Mirman performs tomorrow night at the Echo as part of the “Stand Uppity : Comedy That Makes You Feel Better About Yourself, and Superior To Others” tour promoted by ace comedy site 23/6. He'll gig with Marc Moran and Andy Kindler. Should be a fun night.
