(Updated after the jump): The Los Angeles Times was shut out of the list of 2010 Pulitzer Prize winners. The paper was a finalist for a joint entry with ProPublica for “their exposure of gaps in California's oversight of dangerous and incompetent nurses, blending investigative scrutiny and multimedia storytelling to produce corrective changes.”

San Francisco-based Mark Fiore, whose work has appeared in LA Weekly sister paper the Village Voice, won the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning for his work in SFGate.com. Here's a full list of Pulitzer winners.

The L.A. Times' Ken Bensinger and Ralph Vartabedian, who explosed Toyota's alleged sudden-acceleration problems to the world last fall, were also finalists in the national reporting category.
