Pazz and Jop is here! The Village Voice's annual, venerated, logistically-nightmarish critics' poll has arrived, and there are shit tons of L.A. musicians who placed highly.

Frank Ocean won the album poll, which was no big surprise; be sure to peep Eric Sunderman's quite-touching piece about him.

In second place was Kendrick Lamar, who we personally think was robbed. Also worth a read is Jeff Weiss' account of his ascension.

The guy on the cover also calls Los Angeles home: Miguel, whom Voice music editor Brian McManus kinda sorta might have a crush on.

law logo2x bOur columnist Jessica Hopper (aka Fan Landers) acquitted L.A. native (at heart) Lana Del Rey, as well as Taylor Swift and Grimes of the crime of being image conscious.

Audra Schroeder, meanwhile, chronicled the triumph of Fiona Apple.

I myself tackled the inscrutable Riff Raff, who kept it real in 2012 by refusing to say a single true thing about himself.

There were far more Los Angeles folks than this included in the list — too many to name here. Dive in, music geeks, dive in.
