This Sunday afternoon, Los Angeles Magazine is hosting a Food Event out in Malibu. Yes, that's the name: Food Event. Somebody gets points for clarity. 25 local restaurants and 25 of the state's wineries will provide food and drink and, by extension, entertainment, at the vineyards of Saddlerock Ranch. Guest chefs include: John Sedlar (Rivera), David Meyers (Sona, comme Ça), Ludo Lefebvre (Ludo Bites), Suzanne Tracht (Jar) and Andrew Kirschner (Wilshire). The sommeliers will give lessons; the chefs will give demos.

And, just so you can feel better about drinking in the early afternoon in Malibu, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to benefit the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association and Kids Courage. You must be 21 to attend, and the website makes very clear that no infants or pets are allowed. Okay, so the Food Event is for focused grown-ups. Fair enough. Tickets to the event are $95, or $100 with a 1-year subscription to the magazine.

LA Magazine's Food Event: Saddlerock Ranch, 31727 Mulholland Highway, Malibu. Sunday, October 25, 1-4 p.m.
