The 12th annual Los Angeles Improv Comedy Festival returns to iO West, an improv-aganza of veterans and newbies alike performing fast on their feet, following in the famous footsteps of such iO alumni as Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Stephen Colbert and Mike Myers. More than 150 improv, stand-up and sketch comedy shows (and even an improvised musical) will be spread across seven days, including Mo and Tell (MADtv and Parks and Recreation's Mo Collins), The Lampshades (The Office's Kate Flannery and Anchorman's Scot Robinson), Epitaph (Adrian Wenner and Ethan Sandler, writers of AMC's upcoming comedy We Hate Paul Revere) and the club's long-running staple, BeerSharkMice (Anchorman's David Koechner, Neil Flynn, Mike Coleman, Pat Finn, Paul Vaillancourt and Peter Hulne). If you wanna win some cash and kick your opponents' ass like Solange Knowles in an elevator, you can enter one of several competitions for improv, sketch or stand-up. And if you want to improve your improv, instructors, whose credits include Saturday Night Live, Conan, Comedy Central and Second City, will lead workshops on topics from “Pilot Writing” to “Comedians & Twitter” to “Conan 101.” iO West, 6366 Hollywood Blvd., Hlywd.; Sun.-Sat., June 1-7; 6:30 p.m.-mid.; $5-$20 (workshops $30).
