No big surprise here.

Every quarter, it seems, new data supports the fact that Los Angeles is the absolute worst place in the nation for traffic.

This time around TomTom's annual Congestion Index gives us the crown once more.

Yay!

A TomTom spokesman, in fact, says the Western United States is rife with shite traffic:

According to TomTom's traffic research, the top five cities that experience the worst traffic all lie in the West: Los Angeles, Vancouver, San Francisco, Honolulu and Seattle.

L.A. has the most congested roads in the United States and you, the motorist, have a 34 percent longer commute time than the average American on the road, the GPS-device maker says.

During evening rush hour, TomTom says, you have a 76 percent longer commute.

We're a three-time champ, the company claims.

Here's your top 10 congested cities ranking:

1. Los Angeles (34%)

2. Vancouver (34%)

3. San Francisco (33%)

4. Honolulu (31%)

5. Seattle (27%)

6. Toronto (26%)

7. New Orleans (25%)

8. San Jose (25%)

9. Montreal (24%)

10. Chicago (24%)

Because it has all those GPS devices out there, TomTom claims this is the most accurate traffic-congestion ranking out there.

We believe it.
