Ah, summer in L.A: A nearly full moon, warm, breezy nights and … more LAPD drunk-driver checkpoints.

And this weekend cops are hitting you where it hurts — in the heart of Hollywood.

So ride along with us as we take you on the journey that is our DUI checkpoint cheat sheet for the weekend of Aug. 3:

Tonight, from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., there will be a checkpoint on Santa Monica Boulevard between Bronson Avenue and Van Ness Avenue in the center of Hollywood.

-Tomorrow (Saturday), from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m., there will be a checkpoint at Cahuenga Boulevard and Broadlawn Drive in the Cahuenga Pass/Universal City area.

Many of you question why we publish this information. Cops want us to. They believe that if you know they're going to be out there, maybe you won't drink and drive.

According to the LAPD:

Checkpoints are placed in locations that have the greatest opportunity for achieving drunk and drugged driving deterrence and provide the greatest safety for officers and the public.

You've been warned.
