53-Year-Old Woman Dead after Pedestrian Accident on Corley Drive

WHITTIER, CA (July 21, 2022) – A hit-and-run on Leffingwell Road claimed the life of 53-year-old Lorraine Naranjo, late Monday night.

The incident happened around 10:50 p.m., near Corley Drive. Per reports, the driver of a white Mercedes struck a woman walking in the 14300 block of Leffingwell Road.

After the impact, the involved driver left the vehicle about two miles away from the scene and fled the area. Medical personnel arrived shortly after and pronounced Naranjo dead.

A portion of Leffingwell Road was temporarily closed down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties, but has since reopened.

At this time, Whittier Officials are working to identify the hit-and-run suspect responsible for the fatal incident. More information will be posted as it becomes available to the public.

An active investigation into the deadly pedestrian collision is still currently underway.
