60-Year-Old Dead after Suspected DUI Crash near Broadway Drive, One Arrested

PLACERVILLE, CA (April 27, 2022) – Saturday, Aaron Folmsbee was arrested after a motorcycle crash on Highway 50 that killed Lori Hooper.

According to reports, the collision happened around 6:45 p.m., along the eastbound lanes of Highway 50 near Broadway Drive.

Officers say a Jeep driven by Folmsbee struck a motorcycle and killed its passenger, 60-year-old Hooper, of Pollock Pines.

Meanwhile, the driver of the motorcycle sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a local hospital by responding medics.

Eventually, authorities arrived and arrested Folmsbee at the scene and booked him into El Dorado County jail on $175,000 bail. At this time, he is faces charges of DUI, causing bodily injury, and vehicular manslaughter.

Placerville Officials are currently investigating the fatal collision along Highway 50.
