61-Year-Old Rider Died in a Head-On Collision on Highway 120

OAKDALE, CA (August 16, 2021) – 61-year-old Lois Sipe killed in a motorcycle head-on collision on Highway 120 last Wednesday in Oakdale.

The collision happened around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, on Highway 120, just west of Valley Home Road.

According to the CHP, Trisha Lewis, 65, of Jamestown, was driving eastbound in a Toyota Prius on Highway 120 while Sipe was riding westbound in her Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle at an unknown speed.

Lewis attempted to pass the pick-up and accelerated when entering the westbound lane and into the path of the Kawasaki, colliding with Sipe head-on.

Sipe, who was wearing a helmet at the time, was thrown off the bike as a result of the impact. Unfortunately, she was declared dead at the scene.

On the other hand, Lewis was not physically injured.

Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the crash. However, an investigation is currently underway.
